Postnikov Courtyard

Postnikov Courtyard is situated in Pskov on Oleg Koshevy Street. It is a 17th century architectural monument consisting of white-stone merchant palaces. During the Northern War it housed the headquarters of the commander-in-chief of the Russian army B.P. Sheremetev. Later under Pyotr I it operated as an ordnance house. Since the second half of the 18th century the courtyard belonged to city treasury and was used by military units. The complex retains historical significance due to its role in Russia's military history and connection with the well-known Postnikovs merchant family.
