Dovmont's Town

Dovmont's Town — an historical fortified area within Pskov Fortress situated south of Krom. It was an administrative and ecclesiastical center of medieval Pskov, formed during the second half of the 13th century. Currently it is an open archaeological exhibition of Pskov Museum-Reserve and part of the ensemble of Pskov Kremlin from the X to XVII centuries. Its name is associated with Prince Dovmont-Timofey. The town was separated from Krom by a fortress wall and in the 16th century became part of its defense system.
