St. Ana's Chapel

St. Anastasia's Chapel is situated on Olginskaya Embankment in Pskov, near the banks of River Velikaya. It was built during periods marked by epidemics and fires typical for the city. The building is constructed in traditional Pskov architecture. Inside, the central feature is an image of Holy Spirit depicted as a dove on the ceiling. The entrance is adorned with paintings of princes Vsevolod-Gavriil and Dovmont-Timofeevich. Interior decorations were painted by artist Nikolay Roerich in 1913. First mentioned in written sources in 1710, after the revolution the chapel was closed and its decorations covered with white paint.
