Lermontov Square

Lermontov Sqare is located in the historical center of Penza and connected to regional libraries and the literary route of the city. In 1892, a bust of Mikhail Yurevich Lermontov was installed here, which became the second such monument in Russia. The bust was created by St. Pyotrsburg sculptor Ilya Gintsburg based on a portrait by K.A. Gorbunov. Since 1971, an annual Lermontov Festival has been held in the square.
