L. A. Zagoskin Monument

The monument to Lavrentiy Aleksandrovich Zagoskin is situated in Penza on Kuibyshev Street, 45. It features a bronze bust of the explorer of Russian America standing on a granite pedestal. Opened in September 2018 as part of the "Return to Native Shores" project. Zagoskin, who frequently visited this estate, is renowned for his studies of Alaska, Aleutian Islands and Northern California. This is the second known monument dedicated to him in Russia.
