Monument of Glory "Rostok"

Monument to Glory "Rostok" in Penza is situated on the banks of the Sura River. It is a metal obelisk 25 meters high topped with a stele made of Karelian granite. On the stele there are engraved names of heroes of the Soviet Union and Russia. The author's team includes artist Alfred Oyu, sculptor Apollinary Fomin and architect Lev Iofan. In 1967 the monument contained a message for future generations which was opened and updated in 2017 with a new appeal addressed to people of the year 2063.
