Orlik River

River Orlik flowing through the historical center of Orel forms picturesque landscapes decorating the city panorama. Its shores closely relate to literary history, including the setting of Ivan Turgenev's novel "Dvoryanskoe gnezdo" (Country Estate Nest). Orlik together with River Oka defines the unique topography of old Orel and is one of the sources of the city's origin.
