Park of Culture and Recreation Named After the 30th Anniversary of Victory

The Park of Culture and Recreation named after the 30th Anniversary of Victory is located on the left bank of the Irtysh River in the Kirovsky district of Omsk. The memorial complex to Siberian soldiers, opened on May 9, 1975, was created under the guidance of sculptor Dmitry Ryabichev and architect Nikolai Kovalchuk. The connecting element of the complex is the 230-meter-long "war road" paved with cobblestones, which begins at the 9-meter-high sculpture of the Siberian Mother with her son. Along this road, 18 granite monoliths with thematic reliefs about the participation of Omsk soldiers in the war are installed, and on May 8, 2015, the Eternal Flame was solemnly lit here for the first time, with the flame delivered from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow.
