Slesarey Stepanych Monument

In the center of Omsk, on Karl Liebknecht Street, there stands a monument to Stepanych the fitter. The sculpture created by authors S. Noryshev and V. Vakhitov depicts a worker peering out from a manhole cover with a gas wrench in his hands. The monument was installed in 1998 upon the initiative of city mayor V. Roshchupkin, inspired by a similar sculpture in Slovakia. Omschans often take photos next to this attraction, affectionately calling it "Stepanych".
