Chokan Valyanov Monument

The Chokan Valikhanov monument is located in Omsk at the intersection of Chokan Valikhanov Street and Lenin Avenue. It was installed by the mayor's decision in 2003. The sculptor is Kazakh master Azamat Baiarlin. The monument depicts young scientist, traveler and enlightener Chokan Valikhanovich living in the XIX century. Here it also captures the moment when Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev promised to gift Omsk with a statue of the prominent cultural figure.
