Voznesensky Cathedral

The Ascension Cathedral is situated in Novosibirsk on Sovetskaya Street, 91. This stone building is the result of a step-by-step reconstruction of the church in the 20th century. The cathedral combines traditional Orthodox architectural forms with the urban development of the large Siberian center. It serves as the main Orthodox temple of the city and hosts significant religious services. The first church on this site was wooden. The Ascension Cathedral acts as the seat of the Novosibirsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
