Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Novosibirsk is located at Krasny Prospekt, 1a. Construction began in 1895 upon the initiative of Emperor Alexander III in his memory. The church has three altars and became the city's main cathedral after its consecration in 1899. Interior paintings were done by local masters from Tomsk under the supervision of Yosif Pankryshev. The restored cathedral was re-dedicated in 1991 by Patriarch Alexius II.
