Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Academy Theater (NOVAT)

Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT) is located at Krasny Prospekt, 36. The dome of the building, with a diameter of 60 meters and a height up to 35 meters, was the first in Europe without supporting elements. The theatre occupies an area of 11,837.8 sq.m and received the Golden Medal of the Paris World Exhibition in 1937. During the Great Patriotic War, valuable museum exhibits from Moscow and Leningrad were stored here. NOVAT is recognized as a federal historical and architectural monument and is the largest musical theatre in Russia. Construction began in 1931.
