Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre

Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre is located on Krasny Prospekt, 36. The building constructed in 1931 became the first major structure of its kind in Siberia. The theatre has federal status as an historical and architectural monument. The large hall after reconstruction accommodates 1774 spectators, while the concert hall can hold 375 people. The dome with a diameter of 60 meters and height of 35 meters is unique due to the absence of supporting structures. Its first performance took place in May 1945 with the opera "Ivan Susanin".
