Novosibirsk Academic Youth Theatre "Globe"

Novosibirsk Academic Youth Theatre "Globe" is situated on Kamenskaya Street, 1a. The building is clad with light marble from Sayano-Shushenskoye quarry. The architecture highlights the image of a sailboat through its oval floor plan, window portholes and cantilevered second-floor canopy. The stage features two rotating discs while structurally it has complex cable net covering. Construction began in 1971 featuring a deep stage with rear stage and two recesses. Monumental artists V.P. Sokol and Yu.K. Kataev contributed to interior design and scenery. Architects A.A. Sabirov and M.I. Starodubov designed the project with engineers V.I. Rozhdestvenskiy and G. Rodikov involved.
