Church of the Dormition on the Trade Square

The Church of Dormition on the Market in Novgorod the Great was founded in 1135 by Prince Vsevolod and consecrated in 1144. The building has six pillars, a rectangular shape with three equal apses. The temple is single-domed, cross-vaulted. Throughout its history, the church has repeatedly burned and undergone restoration, the latest being carried out from 2022 to 2024 under the federal program "Cultural Environment." Earlier, from 1955 to 1957, there were also restorative works.
