Georgy Church on Trade

St George's Church on Torg in Novgorod the Great stands on Nikolskaya Street. The building was constructed in stone in 1356 by residents of Lubyanitsa Lane and later reconstructed after the fire of 1745 in the style of Moscow Baroque. The temple has an "octagon-on-tetrahedron" shape with one apse and a glukhaya dome on an octagonal drum. Inside there remain architectural elements from the 14th century including foundation, base, apse and wall up to the choir level, as well as four columns and arches under the church.
