VDNH is Moscow's largest exhibition complex founded in 1935 to showcase Soviet economic achievements. Its area covers 325 hectares with 75 pavilions and 49 buildings listed as cultural monuments. More than 30 million people visit it annually. A distinctive feature during winter is the largest ice rink in Moscow. The entrance is adorned by the famous sculpture "Worker and Kolkhoz Woman" by Vera Mukhina. Notable landmarks include fountains "Friendship of Peoples", "Golden Spike", and "Stone Flower". Horse chestnut trees along the alleys were planted by cosmonaut Pavel Belyaev in honor of Yuri Gagarin.
