Expo of National Achievements

VDNH — the largest exhibition complex in Moscow, founded in 1935 to showcase achievements of Soviet people's economy. More than 30 million people visit it annually. It features one of the capital's largest ice rinks as well as famous sculpture "Worker and Kolkhoz Woman" by Vera Mukhina. Among architectural monuments there are fountains such as "Friendship of Peoples", "Golden Spike" and "Stone Flower", installed in the 1950s. The complex covers an area of 325 hectares including 75 pavilions, with 49 recognized as cultural heritage sites.
