State Museum of Oriental Art

The State Oriental Museum is located on Nikitsky Boulevard in Moscow. Founded in 1911, it is dedicated to the art of peoples from Far and Near East, Central Asia, Caucasus, Transcaucasia, Buryatia and Chukotka. The building features an asymmetrical composition and a three-story body with flanking residential wing. Since 2015, there has been a branch of the museum - the State Rerikh Family Museum. Previously, in the 17th century, a church with a side chapel dedicated to Prophet Elijah stood nearby.
