Historical and Architectural Complex "Cavalry Courts"

Historical and architectural complex "Cavalry Courtyard" in Sergiyev Posad — a unique monument of the 18th to early 20th centuries, former economic yard of Trinity-Sergius Lavra. It is a closed carré with round corner towers and three gateways resembling a medieval castle. Here there are exhibits on regional archaeology, monastery history, Russian folk and contemporary decorative and applied arts, including sections on traditional Russian village life and matryoshka museum. The complex is part of the UNESCO-protected ensemble of the Lavra and the oldest building in the city.
