October Revolution Street

Kolomna, Oktyabrskoy Revolyutsii Street

Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya Street in Kolomna, formerly known as Astrakhanskaya and Bolshaya Moskovskaya, is part of an old road to Astrakhan. It is home to the 1980 city administration building, the Kolomna Polytechnic College, and a university branch located in a house from 1931, as well as the Kislovskaya Almshouse from the 1840s. At the corner with Lebedyansky Passage stands a monument — a steam locomotive of the L series, and the section near the "Square of Two Revolutions" is known to locals as "The Hundred Meters." The city's development is dominated by multi-story buildings from the 1970s–1980s in the Golutvin area and low-rise private houses in the Raduzhny, Sandyri, and Zaprudnaya Sloboda districts.
