Trinity Novaya Golutvin Women's Monastery
Kolomna, Lazareva Street, 11
The Trinity Novo-Golutvin Convent in Kolomna is associated with the names of the abbots Archimandrite Nikanor (Klementyevsky), who later became a metropolitan, and Archimandrite Tikhon (Uglyansky), who, since 1846, collected books and manuscripts on the history of the schism. In the early 19th century, sturgeon, perch, and burbot were stocked for the brethren's meals, and in 1801, after a storm, Archimandrite Varlaam restored the roofs of the Trinity Church and the diocesan administration building in four days. In April 1922, the Kolomna Commission seized silver items of church utensils from the convent, and at the same time, unaccounted-for pearls were removed from the mitre. The modern history of the cloister resumed with the approval of Mother Ksenia as the abbess in 1989, and according to the 1971 restoration program, a fruit garden was planned to be laid out on the territory.
