Lukovnikov House

Kolomna, Lazareva Street, 28

The Lukovnikov House on Lazareva Street, 28 is a 19th-century building in the Moscow Empire style, which is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance as part of the Kolomna Kremlin ensemble. Belonging to several generations of the Lukovnikov merchant family, the house retained its original layout with an enfilade of three ceremonial rooms and a ceremonial porch made of white stone before the reconstruction of the 1960s, and a lost balcony with an openwork grille was previously located above the portico. A marble memorial plaque contains poems by the local poetess Tatyana Bashkirova and a photograph of Lev Hornung. The building, constructed according to an earlier "model" project, stands near the Pyatnitskie Gates not far from the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross and is depicted in Ivan Pavlov's engraving "Pyatnitskaya Tower".
