Lazhechnikov Street
Kolomna, Lazhechnikova Street
Lazhechnikov Street in Kolomna received its name in December 1968 in honor of the novelist Ivan Lazhechnikov, who was born in this city. This street features a city estate from the mid-19th to early 20th century (buildings No. 13–15), which includes a main house in the Empire style, a kitchen wing, and a utility building, and a museum opened in its former salt barn in 2024. The main house of the Petrov estate, built of brick with white stone details, and the Kolchinsky estate, which housed the "Kometa" school since the mid-20th century, now contain museum exhibitions. A Kolomna policeman in dress uniform maintains order on the street, also helping tourists and regulating car traffic.
