Trinity Church in Shchurovo

Kolomna, Oktyabrskaya Street, 3

The Trinity Church in Shchurovo, Kolomna, was solemnly consecrated by Bishop Nikodim of Ryazan and Zaraysk on October 27, 1907, and in 1914 a bishop's service was held here. During the Soviet period, the church was seized: crosses were thrown down from the domes, bells were surrendered for scrap metal, and the interior space was divided by partitions into two floors and numerous rooms. The church painting was done by the artel "Byzantium," which took the St. Nicholas Church of the Pokrovsky Khotkov Monastery as a model, but used a sky-blue background and light tones. A Sunday school for children aged 7 to 13 has been operating at the church for more than twenty years, where large celebrations are held three times a year for Christmas, Easter, and the Day of the Holy Trinity.
