Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross
Kolomna, Lazareva Street, 24A
The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is located in Kolomna on the territory of the Kolomna Kremlin near the Pyatnitskie Gates. The temple, returned to the Russian Orthodox Church in 1994, has two altars: a lower warm one dedicated to the Exaltation of the Cross and an upper cold one dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra. In the same year, the community was given ancient icons, a new two-tiered iconostasis was created, and pilgrimage activities began to develop in the parish. This is a two-story building, where an unusual path leads to the rotunda of the second tier: a spiral staircase in the bell tower, a passage along the roof of the refectory, and a bridge along the ridge.
