Church of Boris and Gleb
Kolomna, Bolshaya Zaprudnaya Street, 25
The Church of Boris and Gleb in Kolomna was built of stone in 1716–1726 in the style of Russian Baroque with funds from local residents K. Zhitnikov and N. Nabokov; the architect's name is unknown. The temple was first mentioned in documents of the 16th century as a wooden church, and in the 18th–19th centuries a refectory with a chapel of the Righteous Zechariah and Elisabeth and a porch with columns were added. During the Soviet era, the building was used for repair workshops, warehouses, and for tank repairs during the Great Patriotic War, and in 1995 the temple was returned to believers and its revival began.
