Cathedral of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God
Staroye Bobrenevo, Bobrenev Monastery
The Cathedral of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos is located in the Bobrenev Monastery in Stary Bobrenevo of Kolomna. According to reconstruction, it was a tall, white-stone, three-apse, single-domed temple made of smoothly hewn blocks, decorated with carvings, the completion of whose construction fell during the episcopate of Athanasius (1788–1799). In 1930, mineral fertilizer warehouses and garages were placed in the cathedral, and by 2014 the building was in an emergency condition with vertical cracks, without plaster and floors. The church was dedicated to the victory over the Golden Horde and had a spiritual and architectural connection with the Dormition Cathedral of Kolomna.
