Bell Tower of the Old Golutvin Monastery

Kolomna, Golutvinskaya Street, 11

The bell tower of the Staro-Golutvin Monastery in Kolomna is a gatehouse object of cultural heritage of federal significance. Completed in 1809 in the classical style, it has three tiers with paired white stone Tuscan columns and cornices, and the second tier houses a church dedicated to the Presentation of the Virgin Mary into the Temple. In 1929, upon the closure of the monastery, the main bell was thrown from the bell tower, for which it was necessary to partially break through the wall of the tier, which led to damage to the cornice. Today, the restored bell tower with the gate church is adjacent to the fraternal buildings, which are used by the Kolomna Theological Seminary.
