Cheese Museum

The Cheese Museum in Kostroma is located in an historical building of an 18th-century merchant mansion at Chaykovsky Street, house 19. Visitors can learn about all stages of cheese production through exhibits of antique tools and equipment for cheesemaking. Special emphasis is given to the history and techniques of cheese making. During tours guests are accompanied by "cheese sommeliers" who explain the features of serving and storing various types of cheese. The museum's collection includes items and images related to cows, which complements the overall picture of cheese-making craftsmanship.
