Nature Museum of Kostroma Oblast

The Nature Museum of Kostroma Region is situated at Molochnaya Gora Street, 3 in the city of Kostroma. Its main exhibition includes halls dedicated to seasons ("Spring", "Early Winter", "Core Winter") and the section on Mesozoic era. Among its unique collections stands out the insect collection of I.M. Rubinsky, containing over 4,500 specimens and existing for more than 130 years. After a fire in 1960, the museum was able to recover and continue its operations. Since 2002 it has functioned as an independent cultural institution.
