Nature Museum of Kostroma Oblast

The Nature Museum of the Kostroma Region is located in Kostroma on Molochnaya Gora Street. Its exhibition includes halls named "Spring", "Prewinter", "Core Winter" and the section "Mesozoic". The collection of insects by I.M. Rubinsky, with over 4,500 specimens, is particularly valuable and has existed for more than 130 years. After a fire in 1960, the museum was able to recover and continue its activities in a new building in the city center. Since 2004 it has operated independently.
