Moscow Gate
Kostroma, 1 Maya St, 3–5
Moscow Zastava — historical grand entrance to Kostroma built in 1823 at the foot of Molochnaya Hill. Originally designed by gubernatorial architect Pyotr Fursov, it was then reconstructed between 1912-1913 according to Nikolay Kololisin's project for the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty. Obelisks' finishes were restored in 1993 by architect L.S. Vasilyev; each obelisk stands approximately nine meters tall.
