Bogoyavlensky-Anastasiyin Cathedral

Кострома, ул. Богоявленская, 26

The Kostroma Blagoveshchensky-Anastasiyin Cathedral is located at Blagoveschenskaya Street, 26. The monastery was founded here in 1426. It is a stone building with five domes and four pillars, built between 1559-1565 by masters from Rostov instead of an earlier wooden church. The interior has paintings by Guriy Nikitin and Sila Savin (1667). After the monastery's closure in 1919, it was used as a parish until 1925 when it was given to the regional archive. Today, it is a cathedral that houses the miraculous Feodorovskaya icon of the Mother of God.
