St. John Chrysostom Church (Novokuznetsk)

The Church of St. John Chrysostom in Novokuznetsk at 3 Razvedchikov Street became the first Catholic church in Kuzbass after the parish was officially registered in 1993. The consecration of the building took place on October 14, 2007, by Bishops Joseph Werth and Stefan Meniok, the Exarch of Donetsk-Kharkiv of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The interior of the church is characterized by asceticism and differs from the decoration of an Orthodox church, while the iconostasis was painted by artists from Novokuznetsk. Since 2022, the rector has been Father Krzysztof Korolczuk, and since 2024, the parish has been led by Father Ilya Astapov.
