Novokuznetsk Planetarium

Novokuznetsk, Metallurgov Ave, 16a

The Novokuznetsk Planetarium named after Albert Andreevich Fyodorov was solemnly opened on May 5, 1970, in Gagarin Park. A bust of Yuri Gagarin, unveiled on April 10, 1981, by sculptor V. I. Dudnik and architect Yu. M. Zhuravkov, is installed at the entrance to the building. The planetarium's star hall is designed for 68 seats and is equipped with a full-dome Carl Zeiss system of five digital projectors, while interactive exhibits have been placed in the foyer since 2014. Next to the planetarium is a 10-meter observatory built in 1972, which previously housed the largest telescope in the country, but as of 2019, it is closed for modernization.
