Novokuznetsk Drama Theatre

Novokuznetsk, Metallurgov Ave, 28

The Novokuznetsk Drama Theater, established by the Ministry of Culture and National Policy of Kuzbass, traces its history back to the Leningrad theater "Krasny Fakel," which arrived at the construction site of Kuznetsk in August 1931. In the 1930s, the troupe of the Stalinsky Theater numbered 60 people and had its own symphony orchestra, and in 1964, the company successfully performed in Moscow with the "Siberian Trilogy" and Shakespeare productions. Above the Grand Stage of the theater, there are 40 counterweight lifts, each 16 meters long, and in the foyer and vestibule, there are two mirrors with a total area of 60 square meters, manufactured at the Novosibirsk plant. From February 4 to 8, 1973, 16 concerts by Vladimir Vysotsky were held here to a full house.
