Kurako Avenue
Новокузнецк, проспект Курако
Kurako Avenue in Novokuznetsk connects the Central and Kuibyshevsky districts, dividing them into even and odd sides. In the early 1950s, the even side began to be developed according to a project by Moscow architects, and in 1933, the first all-welded metal bridge in the USSR appeared here, becoming the first tram bridge in Siberia. A memorial plaque for engineer Alexey Filippovich Poryadin is installed on building No. 3, and at the intersection with Kirova Street stands a church in the name of Saints Peter and Fevronia, consecrated in 2017. A monument to Kutuzov is also installed on the avenue — a sculpture 3.2 meters high on a granite pedestal with a surrounding bronze high relief.
