Heroes Boulevard Memorial Complex
Novokuznetsk, Oktyabrskiy Ave, Geroev Blvd
The Heroes Boulevard Memorial Complex in Novokuznetsk was conceived in the mid-1960s, and its construction, which took about 10 years, was carried out at one's own risk under the guise of improving Tsiolkovsky Street. The central element of the composition is the square "Wreath of Glory" stele made of scarce copper, weighing about 60 tons, which rises above the Eternal Flame on four columns. In the middle of the memorial there is a pool symbolizing tears of sorrow. Nowadays, the Heroes Boulevard remains the center of city celebrations on Victory Day.
