Fyodor Dostoevsky Literary and Memorial Museum
Novokuznetsk, Dostoevskogo St, 29
The Literary and Memorial Museum of F. M. Dostoevsky in Novokuznetsk is located in a memorial house — a one-story log building from the first half of the 19th century with a four-sided hipped roof. The museum, opened on May 17, 1980, as a branch of the local history museum, is dedicated to the period when the writer lived for about two weeks in the house on Police Street after his wedding, which Maria Isayeva rented from the tailor M. D. Dmitriev. The house bears the name of its last pre-revolutionary owner, Nikolai Stepanovich Baikalov, the manager of the gold mines of the Balyksinskaya system. For the 400th anniversary of Novokuznetsk and the 200th anniversary of Dostoevsky in 2017–2021, the exposition "Kuznetsk Guide" was modernized by authors N. V. Karavayeva, E. D. Trukhan, and E. V. Shestakova, and on February 6, 2026, the museum held a festive program for the 169th anniversary of the writer's wedding.
