Archangel Michael Temple (Novokuznetsk)
Novokuznetsk, Transportnaya Street, 10
The new stone building of the Michael the Archangel Church in Novokuznetsk was consecrated on November 21, 1976, after which a bishop's liturgy with a procession of the cross was performed. The church part is combined with the refectory into a single volume, illuminated by two rows of windows on the northern and southern facades. In 1980, Bishop Gedeon consecrated the baptismal church in honor of the Nativity of John the Baptist, and in 1992 the construction of a one-story house for the watchman, a laundry, and a bookshop was completed. Instead of a picket fence, the territory was surrounded by a massive brick wall, and the factory that fulfilled orders for bridge spans for the BAM produced the materials for replacing the ceilings.
