Aluminium Workers Garden

Новокузнецк, улица Ленина, Сад Алюминщиков

The Garden of Aluminum Workers, also known as the NKAZ Park, is the central park of the Kuznetsky district of Novokuznetsk and one of the oldest park complexes in the city. It is located on Lenin Street between the "Revolution Fighters' Square" stop and the "Aluminum Worker" Palace of Culture on the site of the former cemetery of the Assumption Church, which was closed in 1937. In 1939, the city council decided to create a recreation area here, although for a long time tombstones and old monuments were still being found on the territory. In memory of the deceased buried in this cemetery, the Chapel of the Dormition of the Mother of God was erected.
