Rutgers House
Kemerovo, Krasnaya Gorka Street, 17
The Rutgers House in Kemerovo at 17 Krasnaya Gorka Street was the first stone structure at the mine and the only building with running water, sewage, and electricity. Its first resident was the mine manager V. N. Velikoretsky, and during the Great Patriotic War, it housed the headquarters of the military unit guarding prisoners of war. Due to its walls being faced with rough sandstone, the building received the folk name "Stone House," and its northwest facade is adorned with a double portico on stone pillars and an asymmetrical main entrance with a triangular pediment. Currently, the house, whose original layout was lost due to reconstructions, houses the AIK "Krasnaya Gorka" museum.
