Kopikuz Pier
Kemerovo, Rudnichny District, right bank of the Tom near Krasnaya Gorka Museum-Reserve
The Kopikuz pier on the right bank of the Tom River in Kemerovo is a monument of regional architectural and urban planning significance. This pier-dam, built by the Kopikuz joint-stock company in 1915–1916, is made of monolithic reinforced concrete and faced with sandstone. The structure was intended for loading coal onto barges through a special tunnel and at the same time protected the adits opening to the shore from flooding. Currently, the area around the pier is not landscaped, and the pedestrian path and dirt road do not provide convenient access for viewing the monument.
