Great Patriotic War Memorial

The Great Patriotic War Memorial in Zelenogradsk is located on Moskovskaya Street in a square near the southern border of the City Park. In the center of the rectangular site, on a high pedestal with the inscription "To the soldiers who fell for the Motherland. 1945," stands a sculpture of a Soviet soldier 2.5 meters high, depicted with an automatic rifle on his right shoulder and a helmet in his left hand. Behind the monument, there are two rectangular flower beds with blue spruces, and along the sides of the memorial, there are tombstones with memorial plaques. The mass grave is the burial site for soldiers who died during the capture of Kranz by units of the 43rd Army, as well as soldiers who died in hospitals in the last months of the war.
