Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord

Zelenogradsk, Moskovskaya St, 40a

The Neo-Gothic St. Adalbert Church in Zelenogradsk was built according to the design of architect Launir and is also known as the Transfiguration Cathedral. Its 42-meter tower with clocks on three sides is located on the north, while the altar is on the southern side of the building. During World War I, the temple bells were melted down, but they were later restored through donations from parishioners and Oberpräsident of East Prussia Adolf von Batocki. After World War II, the building lost its religious purpose and was used as a gym and warehouse until it was transferred to the Russian Orthodox Church in 1994.
