The monument to the heroes of the 115th Kabardino-Balkarian Cavalry Division is located in Nalchik in a square named after this formation. The monument immortalizes the memory of soldiers who in 1942 took part in fierce battles in the Rostov region and Kalmykia, suffered heavy losses and were disbanded. In 2005, the former sculpture of a soldier embracing a horse was replaced with a new image of a warrior horseman created by Honored Artist of Russia Mikhail Thakumashev.
