Memorial to Victims of Repression of Balkar People

Memorial to the victims of the Balkar people's repressions is located in Nalchik on Kanukoeva Street. It was opened on March 8, 2002 after a decision to create it adopted in 1989. The building combines architectural forms of a mausoleum with traditional Balkar construction techniques. Inside there are documents, personal belongings and household items of deportees recalling a tragic chapter in the history of the Balkar people.
