Memorial to Victims of Repression of Balkar People

The memorial to victims of the Balkar people's repression is located on Kanukoeva Street in Nalchik. It was opened on March 8, 2002 after a decision taken in 1989. The complex includes an exhibition of documents, personal belongings and household items of deportees displayed on two floors with an exhibition hall and an auditorium. The architecture of the memorial combines mausoleum-like forms and traditional Balkar construction techniques. The project author is architect M.Z. Guziev.
