Dagestan Water Tower

The water tower of Makhachkala built in 1910 is situated on Emirova Street, 25. It served as a water supply for Pyotrovsk railway station and was used to fill steam locomotives. The emblem of the department of railways — crossed axe and anchor — decorates the building's facade. Later, the tower became an observation deck with panoramic views of the sea, mountains, lighthouse and old city part. Its height is about 12 meters, its foundation is up to 180 cm thick. This historical engineering structure is an architectural monument.
