Monument to Fighters for Soviet Power in Dagestan

In the central part of Makhachkala, near the building of the city administration, there is a monument to fighters for Soviet power. A sculpture created by Gaybat Gaybatov depicts a composition of six figures of revolutionaries whose hands and feet are chained. The monument was installed in 1980 according to the project of architects Zakharov and dedicated to the leaders of the dagestani underground, executed in 1919. This is an important place in the urban space reflecting the political memory of Soviet times.
