Dagestan Puppet Theatre

Dagestan Puppet Theatre - the main children's theatrical stage of Makhachkala. Operates primarily for families and young audiences, using various puppet performances and fairy-tale plots. The theatre complements the city's dramatic repertoire with children’s shows and has a national orientation. Opened in August 1941 under an order of the Dagestan ASSR government, it actually began operations on April 30 of the same year. In 1974 it was awarded the Honored Banner of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR and the Central Committee of Cultural Workers for successful service to children in rural areas.
